Lessons I offer:

I offer lessons that blend strong technical foundations with imagination, relaxed technique, and genuine musical enjoyment. Whether you’re a beginner, a returning adult, or preparing for exams, each lesson is tailored to your individual needs and learning style.

Classical Piano

Classical piano lessons develop a relaxed, unforced technique using natural arm weight, expressive tone production, and thoughtful musical interpretation. Students explore a wide range of repertoire, build strong reading and musicianship skills, and learn how technique, creativity, and musical understanding work together.

Language Tuition

I offer French and Italian tuition from beginner levels through VCE, along with support in Latin, Russian, and German pronunciation for singers. Lessons build confidence in speaking, reading, writing, and listening, with clear strategies to help students succeed both at school and in performance.

Contemporary Piano & Improvisation

Contemporary piano lessons focus on chord progressions, left-hand patterns, and playing from lead sheets or chord charts. Improvisation is introduced from the very first lessons, helping students build confidence, creativity, and strong reading skills. This approach suits beginners through advanced players, including adult learners who want a flexible, modern style.

Voice / Singing Lessons

Voice lessons develop a healthy, natural singing technique using relaxed breathing, gentle tone production, and careful range extension. Students explore repertoire that suits their unique voice, style, and tessitura. I prepare students for exams and eisteddfods, and also support singers who want to build confidence or improve their speaking voice.

Theory & Composition

Theory and composition lessons are taught through an applied, creative approach. Students learn how music works through improvisation, pattern-based learning, musical memory, and composition tasks that make theory meaningful. I also prepare students for AMEB, ABRSM, ANZCA, Trinity, and VCE theory.

Studio Instruments

Bernstein Grand Piano

This handcrafted Bernstein grand is the primary instrument for advanced students.

A level above standard teacher grands, it has won prizes in international piano craftsmanship competitions. Students often comment on the clarity and sweetness of the treble, and the rich, resonant bass.

Its responsive, balanced touch allows for refined tone production, expressive control, and the development of advanced technique. It provides a full palette of sound colours for both classical repertoire and creative work.

Kawai Upright Piano

This tall body Kawai upright produces a warm, rich sound with many gradations of tone and volume.

It is responsive yet offers enough resistance to help young hands develop strength safely.

Ideal for beginner through intermediate students, it supports relaxed, natural technique while providing a beautiful sound that encourages confident playing.
