Language Tuition:

I am fully qualified and fluent in French and Italian and have a good working knowledge of Latin, Russian, and German pronunciation.

Languages for singers:

I offer tuition in the pronunciation of songs in all four of the above languages: French, Italian, Latin, German and Russian. The advantage of using me is that I am a singer myself and have sung in all these languages. I therefore teach you the pronunciation both independently of the music and then in the context of the actual score itself. That way you learn how to fit the words to what you are trying to sing. Lessons are available both in my home and online and I encourage you to record my modelled pronunciations to take home and practice.

Language for students, including VCE and beyond:

I am a fully qualified teacher of French and Italian. I am both qualified in the languages themselves at University (Italian) and Common European Language Frameworks (French) and in the pedagogy of teaching. I did my Modern Languages teaching method at Monash University and recently completed the Certificate IV in Assessment and Training, with a focus on the teaching of Certificates II and III in applied modern languages. These qualifications enable me to teach VCE and VET languages. I currently teach French and music at The Knox School in Wantirna South. I was also the language coordinator across 2 campuses at Padua College in Mornington at the start of my career.

I actively teach the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. I have a structured approach to each skill, developed over many years of teaching.

I have strategies that will get even the most nervous student speaking in the target language with confidence, and, at the other end of the spectrum, I can clarify any confusion over grammar and writing genres. I can direct you to the best sites to improve your language fluency and skills and will help you develop a structured program for study upon request.
